Cultural Day Celebrations – Jordon

Following the declaration of the Jordanian capital, Amman, as the Arabian Cultural Capital for the year 2002, a decision was adopted to participate with the objective of reflecting the distinctive Omani cultural heritage and to further strengthen the relations between the two sisterly countries.

A seminar titled “Al-Khalil bin Ahmed Al-Farahidi” organized by the Moroccan Fas Science Association – 11 to 13 October 2003

A larger number of Arab poets, writers and scholars had participated in the seminar. Considering the Omani origins of Al-Farhidi, the Omani delegation to the seminar was highly distinctive.
 
The Omani Cultural Week – Al-Rabatt – Morocco 2003

This event, which included three exhibitions (Plastic Arts, book fair and handicrafts) attracted a large number of audiences. The event was successful in strengthening the cultural relations between the two sisterly countries.

The Sudanese capital Khortoum celebrations following its declaration as the Arab Cultural Capital for the year 2005

The Omani participation in this event focused on strengthening the bilateral relations with Sudan. The participation included a book fair and joint workshop between the Omani and Sudanese plastic artists.

  • Participated in the Arab culture permanent committee meetings at Sanaa in November 2004.

  • Participated in the 4th Culture Ministers of the Islamic Conference meeting held at Algeria in December 2004.

  • Participated in second International Experts Meeting held in Paris in February 2005.

  • Participated in the 20th meeting of the Secretariat General held in February 2005.

  • Participated in the 3rd International Experts Meeting held in Paris in May – June 2005.
