Stemming from its belief in the importance of shedding light on the cultural heritage of the Sultanate locally and externally and as exhibitions and festivals play a significant role in enhancing interaction between cultures, the Ministry of Heritage and Culture has worked towards using such activities as a vehicle to demonstrate the rich Omani heritage.

Exhibitions and festivals held by the ministry inside the Sultanate and abroad attract the attention of researchers, students, intellectuals, men of letters and those concerned. Thus the ministry found it necessary to enhance such activities to acquaint others with the aspects of Omani heritage and culture.
