The plastic arts division focuses on fostering and developing this sector. Special attention is given to Omani talents from different age categories. For this purpose the Ministry had set up a well equipped studio in 1986. The Ministry also holds and organizes Artistic courses and workshops from which Omani Artists can benefit. The various participations in regional and international Artistic festivals and contests had assisted in reflecting the standard of Oman Plastic Arts.

Through the services it provided over the years, the studio had played an important role in creating a generation of professional Artists.

The Division’s Main Objectives

• To foster Omani talents form different age groups

• To teach the Omani Artists techniques and skills using modern teaching methods

• To avail the best environment possible for the Omani talents to flourish

• To acquaint Omani Artists with different international schools0 and Artistic methods

• To spread Artistic awareness in the society in order to create a Artistic gourmet audience to the various types of plastic arts

• To sponsor and organize indoor and outdoor functions where Omani Artists can participate and gain knowledge and skills

• To participate in various regional and international activities where Omani Artists can gain experience and learn new techniques

Training and Services

• The studio is open for members daily throughout the year

• The studio opens everyday at 6:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m.

• Membership is accessible to all starting form the age of 15. From time to time, the studio organizes special programs for children between the age of 9 and 14

• The studio provides its members with materials of high standards, free of cost

• The studio provides training and supervisory services to Omani Artists and those working in related fields

• The studio provides its members with opportunities to participate in local, regional and international exhibitions and contests

• The studio allows its members to keep or sell their products

Local Participations

The studio members participate in locally organized Artistic exhibitions, cultural, scientific and social functions.
