Domestic Troupes
The mid eighties had witnessed the formation of domestic
troupe under the supervision of the Ministry of Heritage and
Culture. Those troupes played an important role in enriching
the theatrical movement in the sultanate. In its efforts to
support the trend, the ministry constructed two
well-equipped theatres in Muscat and Salalah. This effort
was accompanied by the issuance of regulatory measures aimed
at defining the goals and objectives. The Ministry’s
attention was also directed to regional participation in
festivals and gatherings with the objective of attaining
experience.
